THE OCEANSIDE PROJECT LEXICON

New to the The Oceanside Project? Can’t remember plot lines? What’s with all of the soda in the woohoo references? You don’t understand what Dawn is talking about most of the time? No need to worry, here’s a little cheat sheet for you that, hopefully, will explain some of the plots and references found in The Oceanside Project.

I will continue to add to this list as needed. ^.^

*****************************************************************************

-B-

Bubble Blower
Vessels that enable users to blow bubbles. Bubble Blowers are illegal in mainland Oceanside, but they are legal in Volcano Island.

Bubble Juice and/or Bubbles
Bubbles and bubble juice are narcotics and are illegal in Oceanside. Any sim caught distributing, blowing bubbles, or growing the plants that create bubbles (the plant from the career reward, the AquaGreen Hydroponic Garden), will be fined and/or sent to prison. Owners of bubble blowers will be fined. Just Say No.

-C-

Caves on the Other Side of the Island, The
The Caves on the Other Side of the Island are where all of the NPCs reside until there is a use for them (i.e the game creates them) or they move in as residents. The Caves are cold and wet and smell like fish.

-E-

Enpeecees and/or NPCs
The Enpeecees are locals from Volcano Island, the tropical island vacation destination.

NPCs are the rescued children, now adults, originally from Volcano Island. The NPCs were child-age when then ruler, Chief Jumbok IV, ordered all of the children in Volcano Island to be sacrificed to the Volcano God, Kilawea. Calista Beeching rescued the children and brought them to Oceanside where they resided in caves (see Caves on the Other Side of the Island, The) until they were adults. After the Founders landed, the NPCs became a part of Oceansidian society.

-F-

Founders,The or The Oceanside 14
The Founders consist of the 14 original sims that crash landed in Oceanside from SimCity and started a new society. These 14 sims consist of Malcolm Landgraab X, Vivian Landgraab (née Moneywell), Fitz Biltmore, Sadie Biltmore (née Winchester), Minka Yomoshoto, Selena Firestone (née Bossanova), Diego Bossanova, Connor Firestone, Kendrick Troubadour, Matisse Troubadour, Owen Goodacre, Becca Goodacre, George Lambswool, and Dawn Lambswool.

-G-

Garden Club, The (The GC) and/or Garden Club Mafia, The (GCM)
Rocky Kotsomiti started The Garden Club soon after the Founders arrived in Oceanside. The club is actually a front for his Bubble Juice narcotics business. Rocky recruits other NPCs, newspaper deliverers (see Newsies), and carpool drivers to help spread his narcotics to willing buyers. This is referred to as The Garden Club Mafia or GCM. Most sims do not know about Rocky’s illegal operations. They believe The Garden Club is a social club that wants to beautify Oceanside. The Garden Club also fines sims that leave their yard untidy after four days.

Goopy
As in, “Don’t be such a Goopy!” A derogative term for someone that is not “cool.” See Goopy Gilscarbo. Not to be confused with the meal, Goopy Carbonara.

-N-

Nectary
A building in which you create nectar (aka wine). Considered a farm in Oceanside so the owner will receive a farm tax break.

Nether, The
The place sims go when they die. The Grim Reaper lives here. He’s a lot of laughs.

Newsies
The teen sims that deliver the newspaper each day.

-O-

Oceanside Today
The newspaper brought everyday by Newsies.

Oceansidians
The inhabitants of Oceanside and all of it’s sub hoods.

-P-

Peterans, or The Peteran Religion
Religion practiced by Becca Goodacre and her flock. Peterans believe in a god known as The Watcher, (see below) who created the sims, watches over them, and guides them. Peterans believe The Watcher is kind, loving, and ultimately wants Sims to be happy. Becca Goodacre became a Peteran Priest after she was saved by her husband Owen from the Grim Reaper. She established a church called Our Gray Lady of Plumbobs Church. Peterans automatically donate 10% of their income to the Peteran Church, per year.

-S-

Soda in the Woohoo or Soda contraceptive or BubbleCon
Soda in the woohoo is an unproven method of birth control used by the sims until actual birth control is unlocked (level 9 of the Medicine career). Putting “soda in the woohoo” when you woohoo does not prevent pregnancy no matter what Matisse Troubadour might say.

BubbleCon is a narcotic version of the above created by Rocky Kotsomiti and scientist Achilles Brook. This also will not prevent pregnancy, but it will get the sim “high.” It is highly addictive, causes extreme hunger, adds energy, and possible sterilization.

-T-

Trash Kicker
The ultimate insult. Like mother f***er.

-W-

Watcher, The
The deity that “religious” sims believe controls what they do. Certain sims even believe The Watcher speaks to them. Apparently she has a potty mouth.

Word of The Watcher, The
The sims’ bible. What they use to interpret what The Watcher is saying. None of The Word of The Watcher was actually written by the Watcher. Just sayin’.
