Sunday, Day 14
“Mortal Kombat”
Winter has been a rough season for our town doctor Minka Yomoshoto. After breaking up with her true love, and being abandoned by her Baby Daddy for no good reason, Minka went on a rage-filled mission to destroy what she thinks is the source of all her pain — her stupid ex Kendrick Troubadour and his floozy girlfriend Brodie Mason — making enemies in the process.
Minka has a great job, wonderful children, and a stellar reputation in the community, but her latest uncharacteristically grouchy behavior has most of Oceanside scratching their heads. Where has the sweet, shy, friendly woman that they all know and love gone? Does her change in behavior have anything to do with her epic break-up with dancer Diego Bossanova?
Slowly things are starting to turn around. After making up with Diego and getting back together, Minka feels she can finally let some of her anger go and be more like her old self. All of this fussing and fighting isn’t good for the community and it certainly isn’t good for her health.
Today is Hiro’s transition day and Minka wants to throw an extravagant birthday party for her baby boy. But first things first, she has to take a sick day at work.
Minka: Ow! I think my stomach is going into cardiac arrest!
Nope. That’s not actually possible.
Minka: Teehee! These suckers are totally falling for it!
Work is the second most important thing in Minka’s life, and she hates to lose a day, but right now her happiness is more important. A birthday party is just what she needs to get her out of this funk.
Minka doesn’t really miss her ex, scientist Achilles Brook, that much. She is grateful, however, that he left her with his first invention. This Smart Milk™ works wonders.
Minka expects to have the bragging rights of the smartest kids in Oceanside!
Little Kira Yomoshoto, Minka’s oldest, likes the taste of the Smart Milk™ but she’s very concerned of it’s strange glow.
Minka gets Kira learning right away on the potty before the Smart Milk™ wears off.
There you have it! Kira Yomoshoto is now potty trained!
Minka can’t wait to tell her friends!
Oh look… Cindy Lou Killeen must be sleepwalking again…
right into people’s homes and using their stuff…
As Minka nurses Hiro and starts prepping for his party…
a sinister Brodie Mason nabs Minka’s coveted newspaper. JK, Minka doesn’t give a damn about the paper. You have at it Brodie!
Her alien glow has left her but she’s still skillin like a villain.
Cindy Lou: Since I’m here I’ll just help myself to some jello. How did I get here again?
GO HOME CINDY LOU!!!
Time to get this party started.
Against her better judgement MInka invites Hiro’s father, Achilles. Things between them are strained but she doesn’t think it’s right to shut Achilles out of Hiro’s life altogether.
Minka’s best friends arrive (and Achilles)…
and so do their tots!
Kira unfortunately falls fast asleep as soon as the party starts.
Gavin Biltmore and Gwyneth Landgraab become besties amongst the leaves.
The hugglefest begins with siblings Ezra and Heath Biltmore…
and Kenna and Aiden Biltmore!
Then Gavin and Gwyneth (yes, I’m already shipping this)…
and cousins Nico Firestone and Cyan Troubadour-Bossanova.
When it’s cake time, Hiro is so excited to see his dad there. He really missed him 🙁
Achilles is grateful to be invited to his son’s birthday, but he’s more than perturbed that Diego Bossanova is there as well. Hasn’t he been humiliated enough then to see that sim next to his son at the cake toss? Achilles should be the one standing next to Minka and Hiro!
The other red-haired, *secret* baby daddy, architect Fitz Biltmore also scowls a disapproving scowl. Fitz never thought Diego was good enough for Minka. To see them back together really upsets him.
Diego don’t care. He’s here for Minka. That’s all that matters.
Minka blows out the candles…
and welcomes a new little bald-headed toddler to Oceanside!
As soon as Minka turns her back, her “best friend” artist Matisse Troubadour tries to mack to her man! Diego might not be the most loyal boyfriend but he does put a squash on Matisse’s advances — at least in front of everysim else!
After a quick make-over here is Hiro Yomoshoto! Hiro is a 9-7-6-3-10 Cancer who is really interested in sports and sci-fi. He shares his genius IQ and his love of science from both parents, and his freckles and artistic side from his dad. Minka’s straight hair and Achilles’ curly hair gives Hiro his wavy and slightly unruly hairstyle.
As soon as Minka puts him down Hiro heads straight to his dad! Achilles is so proud of how much he’s grown. He really misses his boy.

While Achilles gets reacquainted with his boy…
Minka gets reacquainted with her boy… and he says the three little words she had so hoped he would say!
While Minka is… distracted, Brodie seizes the opportunity and barges right into the party! She knows that when Minka sees her in her house she’s going to lose it. That’s just what she’s counting on.
Hiro hurries off to find something to play with…
so Achilles joins nanny Angie Killeen, Fitz, and Matisse in the hot tub.
Minka truly loves Diego. Even though she wasn’t planning on having more children she’s always wanted a child with him and felt jealous that he shares one with Matisse. Maybe today would be her lucky day.
*NO CHIMES!*
Thank the Lord.
Oh brother…
Achilles has had about as much as he can take. He tried to be the bigger sim and not let Minka’s relationship with Diego get to him, but when it’s right in front of his face… at his son’s birthday… in front of everyone!? How could he let this slide?
Seeing how angry he his, Minka quickly gets out of bed and gets dressed. Achilles lunges at her with all of his frustration and tells her where she can go!
Minka leaves the room not wanting a full-out fight. But she’s pissed…
It’s like yin yang toddlers.
Matisse catches Diego and gives him a big hug. She didn’t know that he and Minka were back together. All she really wants is to see him happy.
When Minka walks outside and finds Brodie calmly eating turkey on her patio she sees red. Forgetting all about her vow to not get angry and not to fight, Minka pounces on Brodie!
Angie can’t watch as her bestie and Brodie duke it out.
Vivian Landgraab? Why are you cringing? The fight is nowhere near you.
I was so caught up in watching Minka and Brodie I didn’t realize Achilles attacked Diego!!
Dancer Diego wipes the floor with poor, weak Achilles.
Achilles is in a lot of pain — and not just physically. He finally stood up for himself even if that means getting his butt beat. Fitz is proud of him. 
The girls are still at it. Brodie sharpened her claws specifically before coming over.
Achilles may have just got his ass kicked but he’s not backing down. Diego is going to hear what he thinks about him!
Fitz: Yeah, tell him!
Brodie wins this match.
Brodie: Don’t you ever hit my man again, or there’s more where that came from!
Weakly, Minka asks Brodie to leave.
Thankfully the children were spared of all of the hullabaloo.
An embarrassed and ashamed Minka walks over to get a bite to eat when she sees Diego and Achilles at it (again). She had no idea this was going on.
Minka wasn’t too worried — she knew her buff Diego could win over scrawny Achilles. She was actually beaming with pride. Diego Bossanova said he loved her. Diego Bossanova was defending her honor. Diego Bossanova was her one true love.
Really??!! Shocking.
Diego wins again.
Hiro finds his OTH sorting the blocks.
Ready to start Hiro on the Smart Milk™ learning fast track, Minka warms up a bottle…
However the Smart Milk™ machine appears to be malfunctioning!
Minka: Huh, it’s never glowed red before…
Yeah, I wouldn’t give that to my child…
Brodie returns to steal another newspaper.
Fran the Fox: *sarcastically* Oooh, you’re such a rebel…
Poor Hiro!
Hiro: I hope she didn’t see me do that!
After a long day Minka cleans up…
and heads to bed.
Monday, Day 15
“Kingdom Hearts”
It doesn’t look like she’s enjoying earning that skill point.
Stealing papers is not enough anymore. Brodie has escalated to trash tipping!
Hiro’s genius side tells him that any block will fit in any hole if you make it.
Maybe not.
As Minka begins her day she can’t help but think about everything that transpired the previous day.
She really feels that she and Diego are in a good place — finally on the same page.
Maybe now was the time… was he finally ready to commit?
Minka: Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess that lived in a great big castle…
Kira: Where’s the explosions?
Minka: *thinks* What is this fairy tale garbage I’m reading to my little girl?
Cindy Lou’s not too sure how she got here again…
but she might as well stick around and watch some telly!
Minka: and then the princess ordered her generals to bomb the evil witch terrorists and then she rode into battle and saved her prince who was being held hostage!
I’m quite sure that is not one of the stories in “The Mysterious Mr. Gnome Book of Fairy Tales!”
After reading to Kira Minka politely asks Cindy Lou to go home. Minka likes CL and she is pretty worried about her ending up inside different sims’ home all of the time. Maybe she should examine her and make sure she doesn’t have anything medically wrong with her.
With today being her day off Minka gets some of the chores done around the house.
And Kira’s not too far behind.
Mail carrier Lars Shadow is still freezing to death delivering the mail.
Minka has come to the decision that Achilles will never set foot in her house again. She knows this will hurt Hiro but she has to think about her safety as well as the safety of her man.
She hopes one day Hiro will understand.

After locking the children in their cribs…
Minka sends her measly 10% to the Treasurer.
She then calls her man and asks him on a date.
As Minka gives her man a special kiss hello…
both youngsters desperately want out of their cribs!
They will just have to wait a bit longer…
Once again Minka tries for a baby with Diego, and once again *No Chimes*
Minka finally comes to Hiro’s and Kira’s rescue and Diego tags along. Minka is delighted to see that he’s actually interested in her kids, especially since she knows he’s not involved in his daughter’s life. He would make a great step-father, Minka thinks.
Back downstairs the couple continue their romantic date with even more romantic slow dancing. As Minka looks into his eyes she knows what would make her life complete would be to have Diego in it all of the time.
They’ve been through the good times and the bad. The cheating and lying was now over. They’ve both dated others and still found their way back to each other. This was meant to be.
She tried to make dinner special but she’s a doctor Jim, not a chef!
Diego doesn’t mind the burnt shrimp gumbo. He’s happy just to be with Minka.
Minka didn’t really plan this — it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. She can’t bear to be apart from Diego any longer! But what would he say?
Diego: *GASP*
Diego wasn’t expecting a proposal. Up until yesterday he wasn’t too sure how he felt about marriage. He thought he would stay a bachelor until his hair turned gray.
But how could he say no to that adorable face?
Or that huge rock!
*ENGAGED*
Diego was happy… but was this the right thing to do?
As their date officially draws to an end…
a tired, but happy Minka calls it a night.
While her fiance wonders if he’s making the right decision…
Tuesday, Day 16
“Doom”
Minka needs to hightail it work. She was going to call Angie to babysit but since Diego spent the night in the hot tub she asks him instead. Minka thinks this will be a great opportunity for Diego to get to know the kids better.
Diego: Sure, Babe. I’ll watch the kids. How hard can it be?
*Famous last words*…
Hiro: You’re not Mommy…
Turns out Diego’s not so bad. He gives Hiro an unnecessary bath…
cleans the potty chairs…
puts Hiro to bed…
and… LEAVES!!!!????
Kira and Hiro are left alone…
Thank goodness he’s back!
Diego went on a walk while the kidlets were sleeping and brought back a dozen roses for his beloved fiance… and then LEAVES AGAIN!!!
OMG I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR A CHANCE CARD! THE BABIES ARE ALONE!!!
OK, Minka is a horrible cook so she decides to serve the salad.
Oh shit.
Not the babies…
Minka returns to an eerily silent house.
She was notified at the hospital that Kira and Hiro were taken away for child neglect. In a panic, Minka calls the one sim who can help her.
Felicity Wayward, the Social Worker.
Felicity tells Minka that Kira and Hiro are in her care and both of them are doing well. She lets Minka know that the only way to get her children back is to learn Parenting and pay fees to the orphanage for having to care for her kids. After doing that, and undergoing an evaluation to determine if she is a fit and responsible parent, she can have them back.
Minka is in a panic. She doesn’t really blame Diego — he’s never watched children before. He didn’t know you aren’t supposed to leave them by themselves, even for just a few hours. But can she trust him to be alone with her kids again?
Minka gets to work studying, thinking of her babies the whole time.
She did it!
Now she has to wait a whole season before she can see them again.
How can she last that long without them?
It’s not Diego’s fault, Minka tells herself. After they’re married she knows he won’t do anything stupid like this again.
At least, she hopes not.

Notes
- So, yeah… I have Squinge’s Watch Kids Enabled mod which actually does work. However (after testing in my Test Hood) I realized that I needed it to load last. It’s working fine now. Hopefully no one else gets their kids taken away! *crosses fingers*
- Since Kira and Hiro are in the custody of Felicity and the orphanage they will stay there one round. Minka will not be able to get her kids back until the last day of her round. (That is unless someone else adopts them first…)
- The game generated a random NPC to be the Social Worker but now that she’s created I turned her into a clone of Felicity. The next time we see the SW she will look correct.
- Minka kept autonomously Trying For Baby with Diego! I was getting so angry. But I guess she wants his kid…>.> Just like with Kendrick, I’m not sure why she’s not getting pregnant with Diego. Maybe it’s fate.
- I really wasn’t going to have Minka propose but Diego got the fear so I had to do it. Muhahahaha! But then the joke was on me because by the time she proposed the fear was gone 🙁
